I don’t believe I’m contradicting myself. Although you do have to read for understanding rather than moving right up nose length on the Monet trying to figure out what the whole picture is about.

Honestly, I think that black and white thinking along with stubbornness really doesn’t take a person very far.

Talking with you is like, well, not really talking with you.

That was a new one for me, but it does fit extremely well...
The invincible ignorance fallacy,[1] also known as argument by pigheadedness,[2] is a deductive fallacy of circularity where the person in question simply refuses to believe the argument, ignoring any evidence given.

It is not so much a fallacious tactic in argument as it is a refusal to argue in the proper sense of the word.

The method used in this fallacy is either to make assertions with no consideration of objections or to simply dismiss objections by calling them excuses, conjecture, etc. or saying that they are proof of nothing, all without actually demonstrating how the objection fit these terms.
That second sentence, especially.

I've never heard of "the invincible ignorance fallacy" and suspect a Wikipedia joke. There's no point in naming sheer refusal to listen to reason as an error in logic.

Invincible ignorance is an old term from Catholic moral theory and it's a concept worth having. Invincible ignorance is ignorance that isn't your fault, because you couldn't possibly have learned the thing you don't know, or could only have learned it by unreasonable efforts. Your ignorance was invincible, to you: you had no way to beat it.

Vincible ignorance, in contrast, is a failure of due diligence. You didn't know something that you could have known, and should have.

We'll probably have to write off vincibility of ignorance as just another archaic term that has lost its meaning, but we're still going to need a handy name for the concept. Lots of people get upset, say stupid things in public, and even do stupid things, because they don't know things that other people around them have managed to learn. Are the ignorant people then to blame for their ignorance, or are they trapped in their ignorance bubbles through no fault of their own? Are they at least more sinned against than sinning?

I dunno. A ‘temporal causality loop of willful ignorance’ doesn’t really roll of the tongue as well as Invincibly Ignorant, though it describes MG’s raison d’etre just as well.
