Church Historian Admits “Compelling Evidence to Doubt” Mormonism

Post by consiglieri »

My old missionary companion, Elder Kyle S Mckay, currently the Church Historian, recently admitted in a public devotional at BYU Idaho that there is “compelling evidence to doubt” Mormonism.

It isn’t easy to disagree with him…

I think that’s the future of Mormonism. Be honest. Don’t try to mislead members into thinking that any evidence is there. Apologetic attempts to gather and shoehorn evidence have only done harm to the church.

But is that lack of evidence really such a big problem?

There’s no evidence that the catholic Eucharist turns into the literal body and blood of Christ, either. It is entirely based on faith. Catholics aren’t called into their priest’s office and interrogated on that belief. Mormons need to be honest and mature in the same way.

Is there a timestamp?

It's not that I don't want to watch the whole thing, it's just that I really don't want to watch the whole thing.

Consig, have you reached out to Elder McKay, personally, and announced your departure from the church and tried to persuade him to leave?

Thank you. Even at 45 seconds the clip was grating. Every time I hear "Mormon Speaker Cadence" I want to simultaneously run, vomit, and scream.

That’s four in a row now: Marlin Jensen, Steve Snow, LeGrand Curtis, and McKay.
