What happened with Patrick Mason?

Yea, last time I posted on this site I was thinking of going to church again, as a Patrick Mason type "Mormon" (as an unorthodox Mormon humanist basically), and some on here were friendly and Kishkumen suggested I give it a try. I took his advise but did not feel that I "fit in" with my very unorthodox views and I don't like the clear lack of freedom of speech and "Brethren worship." They (or someone) also appear to be silencing Kwaku El as well (or Kwaku himself is silencing himself), see my recent post here I posted in the Celestial Forum: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=157556

I am glad to hear you gave it a shot. But, hey, if it is not for you, there is nothing wrong with coming to that conclusion.

It really depends on where you live. Some wards are ok with having members who have different ideas, but most aren't. There are a lot of positive things about Mormon communities in my view, but they haven't realized that a lot of it is historical-based rather than doctrine-based.

Yea, I think it does depend on the ward and the individual member themselves. I also think that some personalities are a good fit for what I call Brethrenism. I am not one of those personalities but I acknowledge that others might have the personality type or temperament that does fit into that system.
