The cult strikes again: https://www.eastidahonews.com/2023/10/d ... r-answers/ Mother and uncle abduct 16 year-old boy that they believe is the Davidic Servant.

The teen was found safe and sound at the border between Canada and Alaska.https://www.eastidahonews.com/2023/10/m ... nd-sister/

The family lived in Gilbert Arizona, where the Vallow family lived before Lori abruptly moved to Rexburg to be near Chad.

Lauren Matthias of the Hidden True Crime podcast posted a story yesterday, before the teen was found. https://youtu.be/tNeNSN6rZ2c Significantly, Lori Vallow's sister Heather has come forward and said that Thom Harrison invited Chad and Lori to his office and told them that his visions, as expressed in Visions of Glory, are true and are happening. The panic of this newly discovered group may have been set off by a mass e-mail sent to everyone who had ever been registered at AVOW by Christopher Parret about a nuclear Libya getting involved in the middle east conflict.
Holy smokes! The kettle is boiling over! One incident triggers another. I guess this is the acceleration of information exchange playing out in the world of cult and conspiracy theory.

During the latter part of Ezra Taft's Benson's presidency, a similar subculture appears to have spread.
Lavinia Fielding Anderson wrote:23-24 November 1992. Elder Malcolm S. Jeppsen, president of the Utah South Area, addresses the area priesthood leadership meeting. Elders Henry B. Eyring and Joseph B. Wirthlin are also in attendance. According to an attendee, Elder Jeppsen defines "a spectrum" of church members including "an increasing number . . . who still cling to their membership" but "are pursuing paths to apostasy." In the center are "the mainstream of the Saints, whose who follow the guidance of the latter-day prophets." To the right are four groups: "the priestcrafters who sell their services of gospel understanding for money, the latter-day gnostics who believe that they are endowed with special knowledge of the mysteries and that the veil has been rent for them, the doomsayers who forecast future events, and the cultists who practice polygamy or other doctrines that are not taught by the Church."

Yes, the ‘90s were very active on the fringe side, perhaps partly because people were expecting the Second Coming would be just around the corner.
