Or, as frequently, it is when I realize their certitude if not chicanery. I trust someone much more before they might chime in with, 'trust me' about something. So I use and rely on skepticism when given a reason for it.
I also believe that it is important/crucial to be as accurate as we can. The the thing I’d say as an add on is that I don’t think we need to dispense with our search for ‘truth’.
Your second paragraph? If that works for you, great. More often than not, at least in my life, I like to give people the benefit of a doubt that they’re doing the best they can with what they’ve got. That allows for mistakes and forgiveness. Both to others and myself.
With the problems that we see amplified around us in today’s world it is easy to fall into a position/mode of looking at so many things with skepticism. I don’t think I want to go 24/7 with that modus operandi though.
Believe it or not, throughout my life I’ve always been somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to certain things.
