https://www.eastidahonews.com/2024/09/c ... iple-boys/Virgil Larson is charged with five counts of felony child sexual abuse.
Court documents say on July 3, a Bannock County Sheriff’s deputy was told of a possible sexual abuse case after “several boys had possibly been touched inappropriately by a neighbor and church leader who was giving them massages.”
Court documents say Larson was the first counselor in the leadership of his local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ward.
Three minor victims reported the abuse to their ward bishop. The Sheriff’s Office learned about the abuse from the Kirton McConkie Law Office in Lehi, Utah, which represents the church, according to police reports.
The law office reportedly disclosed the information to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
What kind of a parent trusts their child to a relative stranger for a massage, doesn’t check out their credentials, doesn’t go along as chaperone? And then the victims' first thought is to tell the Bishop rather than their parents or the police! When talking to the parents of the victims, a few claimed they knew about the massages but thought that “Larson had some physical therapy training.”
Pedophiles and perverts get unfettered access to potential victims by securing a Church calling. I’m stunned that, with all the cases that have been reported (let alone all those Church lawyers have managed to cover up) parents still trust relative strangers with their kids.

https://floodlit.org/a/b051/The investigation into Larson was launched when the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported the allegations to Chubbuck Police on July 3 after the agency was contacted by the Kirton McConkie Law Firm in Lehi, Utah, which represents The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to a Chubbuck police report.
So Kirton McConkie didn’t report it to police.
Unbelievable.During the interviews, the children disclosed that Larson was the young men's program leader for their church and would regularly contact them to play basketball at the church, the report says.
Five of those children disclosed to investigators that Larson touched them inappropriately during massage and cupping therapy sessions that were conducted at Larson’s home while the children were either nude or covered with a towel, police said.
Several parents told investigators that they were aware of cupping therapy sessions but were unaware of the massages their children were receiving from Larson, police said.
