Nothing but the LDS Church black-balling you for looking behind the curtain. Many have done so only to find that they are 'chilled out' of the fellowship. Hyrum Snow was one. Another was a poster here who if I recall correctly was 'Rockslider.'
I can only speak from personal experience. Not that of others.

You're either lying or completely oblivious to what goes on in the church. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but I guess you could be both oblivious and lying.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 9:27 pmI am not lying. No. The statement I made is absolutely, as a matter of fact, true.

In other words, you're in defiance of the teachings of the Prophet. You weren't commanded to study topics or read books somewhat related to the Book of Mormon. You were commanded to read it 1/2 hour a day. I'm sure you've only done that stuff off and on as you feel like it. What you're saying is you've "dabbled" in the Book of Mormon over the years. On average, it's sounding like you're as guilty as I am for neglecting the Book of Mormon. Me; an apostate. That's your level of commitment.My Book of Mormon study has been more or less topically based except for a few times in which I've read if from cover to cover without stopping. I've found over the years that I get much more out of reading the Book of Mormon if I am reading it along with the Bible...cross referencing...or other books/sources (Conference Addresses and other academically aligned articles/essays, etc.).
Neither did I. it was in a box somewhere until I moved the last time, and then all my scriptures and church books went to the dumpster. Currently, there is not a Bible of Book of Mormon in my home and there hasn't been for years. You might as well do the same with yours, given your effort level.I didn't put it on the shelf to gather dust.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

No. I would not say that at all.
I am, however, interested in the fact (?) that you haven't spend much time in the Book of Mormon on a regular basis over a long period of time. Do I have that right?

Perhaps. How many times have the good verses in Proverbs been quoted vs. the "rod of correction" verse? I think we come up with our moral beliefs independent of ancient scriptures, and then our modern understanding is used to arbitrate which scriptures are the best. If there are things you've plucked from ancient scriptures of benefit that you wouldn't have come to believe otherwise then it would be harder to argue against that.Ego wrote:I think ancient books of scripture like the Dao De Jing or Proverbs which were collections of saying and songs chosen deliberately for their wisdom can have more value than simply anthropology. Last I checked nobody committed terrorism based on “Weapons are the tools of fear;

Of course you wouldn't say it because you wouldn't admit the truth.No. I would not say that at all.
Yes. You have that right. Why would I spend time in a book I don't believe in? How much time do you spend reading Dianetics?I am, however, interested in the fact (?) that you haven't spend much time in the Book of Mormon on a regular basis over a long period of time. Do I have that right?
