The Validity of Mormonism

Over at the Mormon Discussions and Dialogue board, they are insisting that the validity of Mormonism rests on muddled logic and faulty reasoning.

They didn't use to conduct apologetics in such a manner, but I suspect LDS critics have made these apologists rethink their approach: "Everything without evidence is as true as everything else, so why not Mormonism?"

Are you guys proud of yourselves for driving them bonkers?

It has only been a problem when viewed through a modern skeptical lens? Eber D. Howe, Issac Hales, William Law and many other contemporaries got the train rolling.

This apparent form of avarice reminds me of some of the problems with the Law of adoption:

The practice fell into disrepute partly because "in a few cases it led to jealousy and conflict between sons for their adoptive father's attentions, and because it had in some other cases caused a scramble for status between potential sons seeking adoption by higher-ranking elders, and between elders by accumulating large numbers of adoptive sons."
