The church in Cody, Wyoming is back in the headlines thanks to James and Amanda Park and three counts of CSA. As the police closed in on their residence, Amanda performed a factory reset on James’s phone, trying to delete their sins with a data wipe before telling officers they were "too late."

Ironically, it turns out Amanda Park was quite the local enthusiast for Cody’s new temple, telling the Church News she couldn't wait for the blessings it would bring. It takes a special kind of cognitive dissonance to celebrate the building of a temple while you’re busy building a federal case for yourself.

When Amanda Parks of the Cody 4th Ward, Cody Wyoming Stake, heard President Nelson read the name of her town, she was shocked. “My Facebook feed is all ‘What?’ ‘Cody, Wyoming?’ ‘Really?’ People are superexcited,” she said.

Parks said her town has a strong Latter-day Saint community. “It’s really exciting,” she said of the new temple. “I know everyone here is really excited for the blessings that come from that, and it’s going to be really awesome.”
