I think he was oblivious to the sexism, but I doubt that anyone else missed it. Sexism and paternalism - great combo.
Accusations of “sexism” reflects others’ ideological lens more than my actual intent. As is par for the course certain critics are predisposed to see me in the worst possible light rather than engaging directly with my arguments. We end up with sidetracks (as we see here), strawmen, flak throwing, and the like.

Used to it!

MG
This is MG 2.0 trying to shift focus away from the specific behavior or words that were labeled sexist and toward the accuser’s “ideological lens,” which avoids addressing the substance of the accusation. By emphasizing “my actual intent,” MG 2.0 implies that because (claims) he didn’t intend sexism, the accusation is invalid. This downplays the idea that harm or bias can exist regardless of intent. Putting “sexism” in quotation marks signals distance or disbelief, suggesting MG may want others to see the term as overused, politicised, or weaponised rather than as a legitimate critique. His phrasing implies the MG views himself as more objective or reasonable, while portraying the Marcus as biased or ideologically driven. Overall, it suggests resistance to self-reflection and a preference to reframe the situation as a misunderstanding caused by others’ beliefs rather than his own actions. Attempted gaslighting. MG is not trying to understand or repair harm and instead is attempting to invalidate the accusation by questioning the Marcus's intentions. He may very well be used to doing it...
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
