I’m keen to see how he conjugates his way into claiming his standard for NDE accounts does not equally apply to, say, First Vision accounts, or claims of revelations.Book-length accounts of single near-death experiences are not my preferred means of gaining information on the subject, though I don’t summarily dismiss them. I’m much more inclined to credit short, modest, anonymous accounts provided to reputable researchers by people who didn’t seek their attention and who don’t stand to gain financial profit or notoriety from the reports that they give. Extravagantly detailed narratives and exceedingly didactic or preachy discussions also worry me.

Peterson confesses that he finds Joseph Smith's revelations “a worry”
Well, sort of. It was unwitting, but also remarkably candid by Peterson when he said…
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
