Is “Not By Bread Alone” now toast?

Post by I Have Questions »

The Interpreter Foundation made a great fanfare about producing a series in Africa titled “Not By Bread Alone”. Here is how it was introduced
In this post, we highlight a preview video for our new film series, “Not by Bread Alone: Stories of the Saints in Africa.” The series is about African Saints who thirsted for tranquility and found peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Episodes in the series will be published over the next few years, starting in 2024. Video shorts will be posted monthly.
However, Interpreter only produced a total of 9 video shorts. The last one dated October 2024. The Interpreter main website gave up making posts about the series after episode 4. See Here.

So here is a much touted multi year series, for which donors sent money, which was contracted to Redbrick Filmworks, and which fizzled out pretty quickly, presumably due to a lack of interest. So what happened?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

The anticipation and excitement of the Brigham series did it in?

Redbrick Filmworks is making a killing producing Interpreter videos that could have been made on an iPhone for free. At least if they were free the low viewer counts could be justified.

Clever, maybe a bit cheeky but clever, thread title

It may be that it's hard to get access to chicken-fried steak, chocolate milkshakes, onion rings, and mushroom-swiss burgers in Africa, so the President made a "command decision" to prioritize other projects.

Interpreter's projects follow a familiar pattern of over promising and under delivering.
