It’s exactly as messy and opaque as you would expect if Joseph Smith had made it up. It’s slightly less self-evident than L Ron Hubbard’s scam. But just barely.

Of course people like DCP will argue that if it was any more well attested to by more witnesses, that would take away the free will for people to choose Mormonism because of faith.

It is better that millions dwindle in unbelief than Mormon God provide sufficient evidence for Mormonism’s truth claims.
