Don't give me this crap line, Scratch. I know more real life ex-Mormons (who never post on the Net) than you can count, and none of them possess the hate I see on the Net, nor some sense of "mission" to "tell the world".

I call b***s***. Just because I was baptized doesn't mean I was a true LDS member in my head. I can confidently say that I've never "turned coat" with respect to religion or Mormonism. It's always been crap as far as I'm concerned.

Behold the Evil Which is Mormonism!

I'm just trying to figure out why I should even discuss or debate anything with anyone who runs a message board that prominently displays venomous froth of this kind.

One might just as well put "bloodsucking Jews" or "niggers" or "popery" or "capitalist pigs" or "Masonry" or "Kulak" where the term "Mornomism" now appears and you would have an even more substantive peek through the keyhole into the heart of the kinds of people who would describe the LDS church and its people in this manner.

I'm really beginning to think it is pointless, utterly pointless, to debate people like this in any forum for any reason. It debases me to do so, and it allows individuals like this some semblance of respectability when serious LDS intellectuals or professional scholars take them seriously enough to respond to them at length.

Monondiscussions.com is a shameful and ugly sounding board for irrational, angry, impotent bigots and poseurs who would be much better served getting lives then trying to destroy an insitution that has blessed the lives of so many others.

He now has well over 1,000 posts here, so I guess he changed his mind, eh? ; ) And my, what a mouth on this guy!

Ah yes, the ol' "criticize negative stereotypes by invoking other negative stereotypes" ploy.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."

I thought you already said that? If you are a Scratch supporter, then you're just as big a hypocrite as he is.

What exactly is a "Scratch supporter"? Is Scratch running for office? He is a representative of some type of political movement?

LOL!

C'mon, Ray, I think you know how I operate better than that, by now.

There are a number of people I enjoy on the board, you included.

That doesn't mean I agree with everything they say, but I enjoy them nonetheless.

Scratch and I have "agreed to disagree" on many subjects, but are still friends. You and I have done the same.

If that makes me a hypocrite, then so be it.

It seems to be my lot to be labeled a hypocrite by TBM's and critics alike. Oh, well, I suppose I'm in good company. Jason has been labeled a fellow hypocrite, too. ;)

Ah, right. The jack-booted march towards totalitarian thought control goes on. Sure, Ray: everyone must think exactly as you do. Carry on, mate!

Who said Scratch is a "he"?

Did he write it in a fit of anger about some post the really ticked him off? People frequently go overboard when they are angry.

Well before I even started posting, and the website I took my impressions from was not this one. It had the same name, and some very strong anti-Mormon verbiage that was quite offensive.

Move on, nothing to see here...

I get to mormondiscussions via google everytime I come to this site and that "Behold the Evil...." up there is always the second thing that pops up in my search. :)

That's the one all right. And this is why my post was titled as it was, as a send up of the website title.

Scratch knows this of course, but..well, let the head games begin.

Are you seriously a member of the Church?

My answer to this, having no facts at hand but after observing Scratch's knowledge of LDS doctrine and culure for sometime, is no. Nor do I believe Harmony is.

This is kind of a pattern, really among anti-Mormons, regardless of background. I'll never forget my impressions when I found out that the vast majority of persons working for Ed Decker's Ex Mormons for Jesus had never been members at all, but were primarily EVs from different Christian backgrounds.

Follow the patterns...
