That's only because they heard your side of the story. If they'd read all of the FARMS works, and find out that Joseph Smith didn't really invent the Book of Abraham, but it in fact really is located somewhere on a missing scroll, or else Joseph Smith really did just receive it as a direct revelation and the scrolls were only ever just a prop, or if they read about how God actually commanded Joseph Smith to secretly marry other mens' wives behind their backs (and behind Joseph Smith's own legal wife's back), and how if Joseph didn't marry some particular teenager, an angel was going to slaughter him, well, they might well sing a different tune, doncha think? ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

When I was in the hospital, I had some time to talk to the psychiatrist there (for the record, he said he didn't think I should have been hospitalized). When I told him about my struggles in leaving Mormonism, he looked kind of startled and then said that one of his partners had been through the same experience. He said that this man, who had been a church leader, had been through hell and had almost lost his marriage. He said that he would never look at Mormonism the same way again after seeing what had happened to his partner.

...Sorry buddy, but you come onto a board like this and try to paint exmos as something other than what they are -- covenant breakers, backsliders, and hypocrits --...
Just thought you'd like to know exactly what you are, in case you thought you were something else entirely different.
edited to fix quote.
harm,
I'm sorry to hear that all the ex-Mo's here are all such human trash. I rather like this little dump!
