They deleted a reference I gave to a post on this site which was a somewhat pro Mormon review of September dawn.
They deleted the reference and not my entire post, so it made it look like I was pro Mormon, which it is quite obvious I AM NOT! a group of newbies started accusing me of being a TBM troll so I posted the direct link to the review again, and RfM mods deleted it.
I then sent them email asking why they do not like direct links to Shades board. All I got was "you know why"
After that, I sent them a message requesting they delete ALL of my posts. They complied. Nuff said.
I have posted a thread or two here and there, but pretty sparse.
I like Shady Acres because we are free to fully engage the enemy on a level playing field. Well, truth makes it level for me, but puts the defenders at a disadvantage :)
Early in my so called apostasy I also posted like a madman on FAIR, under many names. To of the biggest were Yowzaa and Joe Palmeto. All of my posts under those two names were deleted from their archives. I quit posting there for obvious reasons.
I understand now better; For no reason they are heavy handed, act like total morons, deleting stuff so trivial. But it is hard to believe how some people can assume you'd be anything close to be a TBM, but same things happen to other people over and over. There are still alots of sharp people posting over there, I do like them, that is why I do go there time to time. Censorship is bad.
At times the censorship at RfM almost feels like they are attempting to protect their posters from being talked back into TSCC.
Meh, its their own board and are free to run it how ever they like.
I will leave my trailer parked here at Shady Acres for the time being.
I stopped posting on MAD because I disliked the moderating style. I don't see any reason to go back there and post again. It's funny when they wonder why evangelicals don't respond to threads.
FAIR/MAD - gave up posting in general for a while, came back here, but not MAD. Mainly because of the moderation. I had a good run and never got queued or banned, but now I'm pretty sure I would. That's not a big deal in itself, but, I would hate to give one of the trigger happy mods who can't read the slightest bit of satisfaction. :)
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Which thread? I'm bored.
LOL
It's called "Answering Another Alleged Parallel, Abraham the evangelist"-- a mirror to my thread here.
I used to post at MADB back when it was "unaptly" titled FAIR. After receiving three or four warnings from the moderators and not being able to figure out why, I decided it wasn't worth the effort. I only go back now to read posts and threads from some of the more entertaining LDS apologists while they bob and weave. The critics fascinate me, I take the time to look for the Dude, Tarski, Chris Smith, cinepro, Mighty Curelom, Don Bradley and CKSalmon's posts and threads. I hope you guys continue posting over there, otherwise I wouldn't go there at all. Opposition in all things and all that. Some of the best and most interesting information originated when Brent Lee Metcalfe was posting on the Book of Abraham.
Uncle Dale's posts and threads always had me spell-bound. It was kind of fun for a while there to watch d'Unk shake "why me" down (it sure looked like he had you pretty rattled for a while there) and trade barbs with USU78.
I've only been to RfM once. The format is boggy.

I got banned (for God knows what?) from the MAD-ness board. I was on FAIR before that and lurked for a long time there before posting. I followed all the Kevin Graham stuff and found it fascinating to watch the moderation there. They are such dweebs.
I have been on RfM since its inception under various monikers. Now, I'm doublehelix over there. I never post, almost never, rather.
Don't like how hard it is to get traction on an interesting post. Here a nice thread can go pages and pages and it is easy to follow. RfM is a nightmare.
I also like FLAK and am registered there. I rarely post.
Same moniker, but a different avatar.
This board pretty much takes up any time I have these days, which isn't much.

I rarely post on RFM because of a very vocal group who attack others who express an opinion that they determine is "friendly" in any way to the LDS church. I was attacked for defending Vogel's pious fraud theory as worthy of serious consideration, and also for insisting Joseph Smith was not a pedophile. I see others attacked for similar positions. I do still check in on the posts now and then because there are a couple of excellent posters over there whose thoughts I like to read, but I will rarely respond because I don't want to deal with the "mob".
I refuse to post at all on MAD due to the biased moderation. It's their board and they have every right to run it how they wish, but I don't want to engage with believers THAT badly that I will endure that type of climate.
I do enjoy pointing out how MAD has become the exact type of board that LDS originally fled from and protested, except it was being run by EVs instead of Mormons. (tanner's old board) ZLMB was the remedy for that bias, and it was meant to be run without moderator bias. LDS eventually fled that board for the biased moderating of MAD.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
RfM is a real grab bag in the best and worst senses. I do kind of like the insane free-for-all of it and I appreciate its "historical" significance in much the same way I appreciate the Tanner's work. It serves a purpose but is not beyond criticism. I've learned a lot there, and I have it to thank for being here. Of course if I start working backwards on all the coincidences that led me to where I am today, I'll have to start thanking Joseph Smith for my current personal relationships and that's just....wrong. Or maybe not. I'm with beastie on Joseph Smith not being a pedo, afterall.

Yeah! The one and only. :=)
Anyway, I really have to thank RfM. I was out already close to 15 years when I found them and then I realized how right I was. My family had really mind-f**ked me and it was nice to find so many who had similar stories. Fun stuff!
But, this board rocks. I like it here.
