I typed too soon. Looks like Google Trends has a bug.
Provo retains its #1 position if one filters by Utah for the last 12 months and 30 days. However, it drops off the list if filtered for the last 12 months, but for all subregions in the USA.


Since we now know that Google Trends is buggy, should we discount all the results?

I think we take our lead from the "scholarly approach" that a group such as FARMS does. Below is an example:

I enjoy "heads I win, tails you lose" games, but my brothers refuse to play those with me anymore now that they understand how it works. I think, however, that sometimes things really do work that way even when it isn't necessarily fair. In US courts, we presume that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty. If you don't find my DNA at a crime scene, that doesn't prove that I'm innocent, but if you find my DNA, witnesses, etc. then that does say something.
