Harmony, yer probably correct:

Mormons do not believe that no one is entirely right. We're convinced that we're entirely right. We think the others are a little bit right, but we're as right as right gets. The idea that we cannot know that we're right flies in the face every missionary out there, declaring our version of the gospel is the true version and our church is the true church. Humility? In the LDS church? What are you thinking???? We know the route to salvation... it goes through the priesthood, through the temple, and through enduring to the end.

RM: This is something the average decent Mormon fails to completely understand. The finality of such arrogance and self-righteousness was paid for currently by a small group of LDS in a Holiness Christian Campground. The Admin let them know they will not be welcomed back. This came as a shock to them, & to other 'Campers' who accepted them for the nice folks they are.

However, the powers-that-be judged them not for their niceness, but by their affiliation with a group whose purpose is to annihilate/put-out-of-existance every other Christian sect but the only "True Sect/Church" theirs.

Quite a dilema to be seen as a Terrorist, and not think of yourself as such. Some what as JAK described the limitations of "friends" in his post above. How many LDS folks actually grasp this LDS object? That it is unattainable only adds to the irony, being sacrificed to a lost cause. Sad, sad, sad...

*sigh* I'm sure the author had good intentions, but we know which road is paved with good intentions.

True Sis, so it has been said by the nea-sayers. But i respectfully suggest, while good-intentions might strew the river-bank, some do become stepping-stones to higher ground. Warm regards, Roger

The Holy Land of Israel and Palestine is sacred to all three faiths.

We must pray that this land becomes the magnet that draws us all
together, as opposed to the detonator that blows us all apart.
I would like to end this letter on the happy note that there has been
meaningful correspondence between leaders in the Abrahamic faiths. It
is not too late to save mankind from the fates of war and/or tyranny.
I believe there will be a day, when Christian, Muslim and Jew will be
united in praise of, in harmony with, and in submission to, the will
of God. The road ahead will be trying and filled with obstacles, but
it is a road we must travel together if Civilised man is to have a
future on Earth, and in the realms beyond...

Sounds good to me. To bad political ideology and religious squabbling
has to enter the troubleshooting and problem solving process.

Right Moksha, it is too bad. That such is the case brings questions re the practical understanding, and application of the principles upon which 'we' have evolved as social beings. To survive by exploitation, sanctioned by the very institution (organized establishment Abrahamic religion(s)) that pretends to represent a just/loving "God", and a divine teacher who taught humanity to care and share, must be recognized as the cause of humankind's cyclical rounds of empire building and decline.

Exploitive practices must be seen for their inherant 'evil'. They contravene the very principles upon which our universe has existed for its eons: Coexistance and natural order, sufficiency as opposed to satiation and greed, when applied humanely will more facilitate the movement of humanity towards civility than the brutish competitive traditions that have led us to the critical brink on which we seem to teeter.

Abrahamic reconciliation might help. (It could be a start?) However, i think IT must be recognized as more a cause of human conflict than an innocent victim. Is IT ready to see itself as such?? Is Nationalism, and patriotism prepared to acknowledge the centuries of havoc and devastation they have led to?? If so, then there is hope, IMSCO... Warm regards, Roger
