I rest my case. Had you served, you would've seen mockery similiar to what is shown in the pictures.

And I say you're a liar, a fraud, and a a piece of moral sponge cake.

I actually bothered to serve a mission. I know what I saw; I know how some missionaries belittled and mocked the Catholic religion. Whether or not you believe it really doesn't matter much to me.

Was it condoned by either of my mission presidents? No, not at all. But it still happened, frequently enough that it was talked about at nearly every zone and mission conference.

Where's that, talking to you?

Unlike you, I actually bothered to sacrifice two years of my life for the Mormon religion. I know what I saw; I know how some missionaries belittled and mocked the Catholic religion. Whether or not you believe it really doesn't matter much to me.

Oh, well, I just have to lie down. You got me. I slink away dejected and forlorn.

Coggins is not an RM?

Figures! Not an RM, inactive family, he's inactive and a recovering alcoholic.... why is he here defending that which he does not nor cannot embrace?

And this coming from a couple of juvenile, profane, vulgar exmormon Moonbats who couldn't handle the standards and disciplines of the Christian community of which they were a part?

First, where did you get the idea that either I or my family is inactive? Secondly, what does my being a recovering alcoholic have to do with anything?

Look up from the gutter guys...it also smells better.

I changed my post because I decided it wasn't fair to attack him for not serving a mission. My only point was that this kind of crap takes place and that I really don't expect someone who didn't go on a mission to know about it. It isn't exactly something most RMs with any sense go around bragging about. I also think it's hitting below the belt to drag whatever addictions he might have had in the past into this discussion.

I do think he'd do well to realize that those of us with first-hand experience might know a little bit more about missions than he does, even if he has hung around with RMs for the last 30 years.

First off, show me one post where I am profane, juvenile or vulgar.

Second, I didn't leave because I couldn't live the standards or discipline of the Mormon church. I left because I decided it wasn't true. Up until I decided to leave, and for the most part since I've left, I kept all the standards expected of a member of the Mormon faith. Including, as I mentioned before, giving up two years of my life to be a missionary.

OK. Let's start with every post you've ever made here since coming into the forum, at least as Boaz and lydia.

Sure you did. There's no such thing as purely intellectual apostasy. In my entire life, when I've seen apostasy up close, including from intellectuals, the intellectualism is masking other, less conspicuous attributes.

And what falls under the umbrella of "for the most part" as to which standards and disciplines have been modified or rejected?

Moonbat??? Huh, that's different.

Coggins7 wrote:First, where did you get the idea that either I or my family is inactive?
You said so a long time ago in a group chat session.
Coggins7 wrote:Secondly, what does my being a recovering alcoholic have to do with anything?
Speaks volumes, especially since you admitted to being a 20+ year recovering alocoholic.

I will now that I am done looking down on you.

My point about you, is you are similar to many of the defenders. Most are unemployed, not active, and have one or more "issues" keeping them from full activity.

in my opinion, if you defend it but do not live it 100% you are a hypocrite.
