At a FAIR conference a few years ago, I enjoyed having conversations with him during lunch. I found him to be very liberal and open minded. Ben Spackman and Kerry Shirts are cool guys too.

Who is my least favorite? I'd rather not say... but a hint is that his name sounds like Pa-Moron. ;)

Who is Ben Spackman?

My favorite is DCP. The man is hilarious, even when he's not trying to be.

I have favorite "critics" too.

To me, it's like being shown into a room with several piles of dog crap on the floor, all slightly different in one respect or another, and my escort asks me, "Which one is your favorite?"

I don't know about you, but I don't really care for dog crap.

I think it's possible to respect someone even when you disagree with them.

Oops. I should have called him by the name he uses as a handle now. Now, if I were to say… I’d take away his anonymity.

Yeah. He is funny... and an all-out hoot while delivering a lecture. A little overboard with the irony for my taste, though… as it comes across (at times) as condescending arrogance. I have found him to be more personable during one-on-one conversations.

Among the many whom I like are Zakuska and T-Shirt. I'll also take Dartagnon for Islamic issues.

He is, but he's absolutely wrong on evolution. ;)

Absolutely!

I don't disrespect mopologists because I disagree with them. I disrespect them because they want to take nonsensical things, spin them and try to make them look scholarly when we all know that in reality, they're making up a bunch of crap to sell a con job religion. I think it's despicable and not worthy of respect.

My observation as an ex-mopologist is that they (generally speaking) start first with the conclusion that the Church is true, and then they work backwards fitting the "facts" to justify the conclusion. This methodology has been called retrojection or eisogesis. At times... this may require great effort, trying extremely hard to cram a round peg into a square hole (so much so that either the peg or hole get stripped)... but this is not the same thing as knowingly selling a con-job religion. I didn't know when I was an apologist for FAIR.
