I had to prove that I was actually LDS so I could talk on the LDS thread, only they didn't believe me and I am certainly not a christian. The views are so twisted. I have never seen anything so strange.

Yeap, their rules on the CARM Message Board are just as stupid as the rules on the MA&D Message Board.

I do no know why anyone would subject themselves to CARM. It's just another money making machine, in Gods name of course.

I agree, actually, as I've previously stated on this board.

I posted perhaps nine times on CARM, but quickly lost interest.

There is very little actual discussion on CARM, at least in the Mormon-related forums. Lots of EV high-fiving, though. I found the Mormon forums vitriolic and tiresome.

Credit where credit is due: MADB, for all its faults, can't touch CARM for one-sidedness (and I'm ostensibly on the side of the high-fivers, no less).

Was Joseph Smith the founder of CARM too?

Hah.

In all seriousness, I was very disappointed to see CARM offer online religious "courses" (essentially a repackaging of material largely available on the CARM site itself) to the tune of $75 each!

Huh!?

Compare that with, for example, the Biblical Training website which offers online audio courses by several high-profile Christian scholars in a variety of fields--absolutely free of charge. Their motto: "Biblical Training offers the finest in Christian evangelical teaching to the world, for free, forever."

When folks start charging for religious information, red flags go up for me. (And that goes for the LDS Temple ceremony as well.)

Chris

PS. BT also puts their past financials right out there on its donation page.

I thought you were a supporter of Walt? How could you compare such a great guy to Joseph Smith?

Oh, Walt's early animated movies were pretty good, but the prices that his amusement parks charge are outrageous.

Not so, I have been banned there twice, and only once at MAD.
