Good (and ethical) family law attorneys do not advise their clients to hide assets, particularly since asset disclosures are signed under penalty of perjury. I would have promptly fired any client who would attempt to hide assets or income. I expect rcrocket would have similarly followed an attorney's ethical and legal rules.

The vast majority of attorneys are not the unscrupulous villains that many make them out to be, you know.

So, Bob, do you still consider Skippy someone who would "defame her brother lawyer"?

Ironically, she is defending you here.

As I said previously, not only were you barking up the wrong tree to begin with in your accusations, but you owe her an apology.

I'm sorry if my knowledge of TV lawyers influenced my assumptions about real life legal ethics.

It seems rather narcissistic for the hired attorney to speak of firing his client. Is it some kind of ethical rule between lawyers to pretend you are hiring and firing your clients? lol

Heh. It's shorthand for describing the process of withdrawing as counsel of record (which we are allowed to do in certain circumstances under the rules of ethics; the situation I described would be one such circumstance).

Oh lord - TV lawyers. That's like basing your assumptions about the FBI on the X-files.

I am going to stick my nose in here, but just for a moment. Something smells awfully 'funny' each time I get around Bishop Lee's posts.

But, I do think that if a group of lawyers were to assess skippy's posts and Bishop Lee's posts, only skippy would have nothing about which to be embarrassed, let alone, fear.

Crockett Lee, well,....

That's nasty and untrue.

No, it is not nasty, and no, it is not untrue--and you know it.

At least I don't advise people on this Board to lie to their wives about income and assets in the middle of divorce proceedings.

Neither do I.

Those with even a rudimentary comprehension of the English language could--and did--clearly see that I was advising Scottie to conceal his raise while there were still NO legal proceedings going on. In other words, their divorce was already final, and along with it, all alimony fixations. Thanks to the fact that she discovered that he got a raise, she wanted to take him back to court. In other words, they were BETWEEN proceedings. They were NOT "in the middle of divorce proceedings," as everyone but you fully comprehended.

I consider that pretty offensive.

It might have been, if that's what I had actually done--which I didn't.

You've got terrible character.

And you're far, far too stupid to practice law.

Now I see why you've deleted the old history on this Board; I can't call up that thread and your post where you did such a nefarious thing.

You, sir, are a blatant liar, for I have never done such a thing (as you yourself very well know). I wonder--is such a blatant breach of ethics actionable under the California Bar Association?

You mean the X Files is not the way it is?
