For all its failings in particular cases, and for all the stress it has borne lately, marriage is the great neutering institution. No other institution has the power to turn happiness into a living hell, lust into boredom, strangers into enemies.

Well, Selek, to be eligible for the Gazelam treatment, first you have to publicly profess your unwillingness to stick it to the gays. You have to advocate leaving them alone, and respecting their right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness, on substantially their own terms, just as you expect to be free to do so on substantially yours, etc.

Then Gazelam can come down on you with that Truncheon of Doom, as his loving Sky Daddy would like him to. Because he loves you.

Are you sure you got it in you?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Hello Gazelam,

Do you think that you are being a bit too harsh there, Gazelam?

Hello,

The LDS Church has basically, essentially, and practically always taught the marriage is an important commenmdent, and that in order for a man to be able to enter into the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom, he must get married. Former 13th LDS President Ezra Taft Benson Stated:

My dear single adult brethren, we are also concerned. We want you to know that the position of the Church has never changed regarding the importance of celestial marriage. It is a commandment of God. The Lord’s declaration in Genesis is still true: “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone” (Gen. 2:18).

To obtain a fulness of glory and exaltation in the celestial kingdom, one must enter into this holiest of ordinances.

And LDS Apostle Elder Oaks Pretty Recently Stated:

There is another possible contributing factor to the demise of dating and the prominence of the culture of hanging out. For many years the Church has counseled young people not to date before age 16. Perhaps some young adults, especially men, have carried that wise counsel to excess and determined not to date before 26 or maybe even 36.

Men, if you have returned from your mission and you are still following the boy-girl patterns you were counseled to follow when you were 15, it is time for you to grow up. Gather your courage and look for someone to pair off with. Start with a variety of dates with a variety of young women, and when that phase yields a good prospect, proceed to courtship. It’s marriage time. That is what the Lord intends for His young adult sons and daughters. Men have the initiative, and you men should get on with it. If you don’t know what a date is, perhaps this definition will help. I heard it from my 18-year-old granddaughter. A “date” must pass the test of three p’s: (1) planned ahead, (2) paid for, and (3) paired off.

How are the gay men within the LDS Church supposed to be able to get into the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom, if they cannot get legally marry to a Person that they are physically attractive to? Christ while He was on the earth, in the New Testament times, Never taught that a man had to get marry to be able to enter into the highest degree of heaven.

And here is what the Apostle Paul stated in 1 Corinthians Chapter Seven, in the New Testament:

1 Corinthians 7:7-9: (New American Standard Bible):

7 [a]Yet I wish that all men were (E)even as I myself am However, (F)each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that.

8 But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is (G)good for them if they remain (H)even as I.

9 But if they do not have self-control, (I)let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

There are some People in this world who are not met to get married in this life. And some of the People in this world who are not met to get married in this life, happen to include quite a few males. Why couldn't the LDS Church just of have been all right with a few their male members being single throughout their lifetimes?

Well Gazelam, I am Not Pro-gay Marriage, however I think that you are being a bit too harsh, and how come the LDS Church couldn't just of have been all right with a few their male members being single throughout their lifetimes? There are some People in this world who are not met to get married in this life. And some of the People in this world who are not met to get married in this life, happen to include quite a few males. The Apostle Paul was also ok and also all right with some of the People on this earth being single.
