Your sister obviously knows more than you do.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I respect Bushman way too much to let you misrepresent his position and belief regarding Joseph Smith. What you have said here is flatly false.

one moment, of the well of life to taste-

Are you sure it's respect for Bushman and not your addiction to posting one liners?

by the way, the Dude is right, and you are wrong.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

I didn't like her at all. The beginning of her talk was all about her and how special she is and how she and her presidency hiked up to the top of the mountain for their first meeting and how special that was. Bleah.

It was enough to gag a maggot.

Oh yeah, so specchual® in fact, they hired a photographer to take some pics to be used in her talk:

Note the composition, temple, and specifically the golden horn tooter in frame...

Then lets get the photographer to get the perfect angle with the sun right behind us as we too raise our yellow flag!

*note to photographer/editor: PS out the handrail in pic #2 to make it seem more like they were on top of a hill and not just on a porch of a local church, also next time choose a better angle that does not show her beer belly *

Oh and what a fine example she is being to the young women of the church with her fake colored hair! Why not just live with the gray hairs the lord has so justly bestowed upon you old woman?
... our church isn't true, but we have to keep up appearances so we don't get shunned by our friends and family, fired from our jobs, kicked out of our homes, ... Please don't tell on me. ~maklelan

I'm not usually awake by this time during conference, but I was having so much fun making fun of the YW general president and the poor schmuck who drew the talk after hers, that I was still awake for Pres Monson's talk. I thought it was GREAT!

Sister Dalton's talk was not that great. But I want you to know I met her a few years ago and had chance to talk with her one on one about the youth. She is a wonderful woman really and very caring.

Yes Pres. Monson's talk was terrific.
Among other things he said, he said to not live for tomorrow, because all you'll have is bunch of empty yesterdays. What a great quote!

From the Music Man and a great quote. Carpe Diem!

I also thought it was interesting that when BYU TV flashed his name on the screen it said President, not Prophet.

I have never seen it shown any other way than President.

Interesting; I like the idea. Did he mean to forget about the CK, enjoy life and the CK will look after itself? That's a real good idea! I wish that would be the case. Maybe in time?

Another question: That Monson was quoting, should he have stated so, giving credit to his source--if he knew it? A detail that might be more significant today than it might have been in times past. Differentiates between being a creative writer and well read...
Have you noticed what a beautiful day it is? Some can't...

He did give credit. He referenced the Music Man and Professor Hill.

I doubt he meant to forget the CK, etc. I think he meant that too many members aren't enjoying this life; they're so focused on the next one that they're missing out on all sorts of great things available in this life.

I was just paraphrasing him, Roger. He gave credit for all of his quotes.
