The Nehor's Bid to Become a MADmod

No matter who or what Nehor is, no matter what he says, he is qualified to be a MAD Mod. From my POV the qualifications aren't high enough to disqualify him or nearly anyone else for that matter.

Our dear, beloved friend and fellow poster has indeed suffered a number of slings and arrows on this board. Furthermore, it seems that he has, as of late, tapered off his posting habits somewhat. Is this due to the many "beatings" he has taken? The short list of his offenses leveled against him would include the following:

---Obsessive-compulsive masturbation
---Latent homosexuality
---Barely disguised sexism (i.e., rape victims "deserved it")
---Outrage over being labeled "nebbish"
---Use of an August Sander-esque avatar, which one poster described as being "Hitler Youth Squad"-ish.

Indeed, The Nehor's August Sander avatar is still in full effect over at the aptly named MAD board. One cannot help but wonder why he opted to drop it over here, in favor of a stout X-Wing fighter pilot munching on a bucket of fried chicken. Was it due to the "Hitler Youth Squad" comment, one wonders?

In any event, it seems that The Nehor has made a power play over on the aptly named MAD board. He proposes that he be made a moderator:

On another thread I was reading it was said that mods have cosmic galactic powers that strain the boundaries of belief. As a lover of power myself I have decded to start Nehor's Committee for Moderator Orchestration (NCMO).

You're probably asking yourself why of all people should you support the Nehor to hold the exalted rank of Moderator. You're thinking he will destroy the boards with insane ruling judged by his trusty magic eightball; you're thinking he'll intentionally drive off the smartest posters and replace them with rabid raccoons; you might even be thinking that Nehor has made a pact with dark powers to use this board to further his private crusade for the abolition and extinction of the Asparagus plant. All true, but there are benefits I bring as well:

1. Will hold mandatory drug screenings for all new posters on the board.
2. Will host UMW fight night. Watch as the ladies of the UMW compete in the athletic sport of mudwrestling for your viewing pleasure.
3. Free doughnuts for anyone who comes and cleans my residence on Saturday morning.
4. Abolition of Slavery.
5. Will end the genocide in North Dakota.
6. Banning of every poster whose screen name begins with H, Q, R, and V.
7. Will not just ban trolls, will hunt them down and take them to an undisclosed location until they repent of their Internet wrongdoings.
8. Will end the War on Terror and begin the War on Mimes.
9. Will authorize the nuking of Chad (because they'd never expect it).

Join in and support today. Will be selling badges and T-shirts soon. Until then add "I support NCMO" to your signature line until our campaign has been successful. The way ahead may be difficult but remember the NCMO motto:

I'm not quite sure how to read this, though I confess that I *did* find it intriguing. What, pray tell, do you think The Nehor is up to, and what, moreover, does this tell us about messageboard psychology and behavior? Perhaps most interesting of all is this rather pathetic, "joking" play at securing a moderator position on the aptly named MADboard. (And let's face facts here: I'm sure no one is fooled by the "jokey" tone of The Nehor's post. The sad truth is that becoming a mod really would make him feel redeemed and worthwhile. I daresay it would be akin to the many "conversations" he has had with Jesus and "Gods".)

In any event, I found this interesting in terms of observing the difference in behaviors of posters here at good ol' Shady Acres vs. the aptly named MADboard. Certainly, if The Nehor has had his feelings hurt, let me be the first one to offer him a friendly, cyber bear hug.

Yes, I have been accused of all the offenses you list. I deny all of them. As an accused tax dodger yourself though I'd be careful. Stones and glass houses and all. I dropped the avatar here because I got bored with it and tried a more thuggish one which no one liked so I switched to something that represents more how I perceive myself on this board.

What occurred to me with a chuckle while I was thinking of some way to create something other then a Prop 8 for variety on the other board is actually me seeking validation to bring some meaning to my otherwise pathetic life. My greatest ambition in this life or the next is to be an anonymous moderator on a relatively minor board on the Intrawebs. The 'jokey' tone, my sad cover, has been unmasked. That you would compare my farce to my communications with God is irreverent and inane (i.e. your SOP).

I know TN has taken a lot here. But he's also been pretty abrassive himself. He really dealt the low blows a few months ago over my weight problems, with not a shred of sympathy.

I laughed at it, too much. But I'm still concerned at the too-frequent references to blood, killing, and murder. I've read many of his posts on MAD, and while I can understand anyone expressing such things several times, it's gone beyond a joke. I've strongly objected to this in exmos too, so no one can call me one-sided. No? Okay.

Playing video games made me violent. I blame society.

I also am using the John Cleese defense. When "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" first came to American theaters there was a worry that it would be thought of as tasteless with the Vietnam War going on but it focussed on cartoony violence (see Black Knight scene). I always go overboard with the silliness of my violent imagery to show that it is a farce.

See my threat of what I was going to do to Scratch for an example. Too lazy to look for it. Scratch probably has it indexed somewhere in his copious files on me.

I had a sling and I had a flipper. I made them myself, and they worked very well. It was my duty to walk the cows to the pasture a mile away from home. There were large cottonwood trees lining the road, and I remember that it was quite a temptation to shoot the little birds “that sing on bush and tree,” because I was a pretty good shot and I could hit a post at fifty yards’ distance or I could hit the trunk of a tree. But I think perhaps because I sang nearly every Sunday, “Don’t Kill the Little Birds,” I was restrained.

But I suppose we are who we are, and past experiences shape our understanding of the world.

No, truthfully I don't care what you and several others think, not everyone on this board. You can be entertaining don't get me wrong. The second I actually thought of myself as you seem to think of me I'd probably have to put a bullet in my head. Liz didn't like the thuggish picture and I have some respect for her opinion.
