Ray

When checking out Glenn Beck try to look at some other sources than the left wing rags that smear any conservative talk show personality with regular unfiltered venom.

Glenn Beck is conservative and like any talk radio show personality can say some goofy things. Some of those things are in jest and must be taken in the context of the show and the tone in which they were given.

Anyway, Beck is a mixed bag. He has the third most listened to talk radio show in the US. For a year or two he had a show on CNN as well. He has left ( or was let go-not sure which) CNN and will be starting a show on the FOX network in January.

He is not a Christian apologist nor does he claim to be.

In the summer of 2007 he was in our area doing a live show. It was non political and was just about life situations. I went to see him. He was hilarious.

I have wondered for the longest time if Beck was an phony or an idiot ..

I have concluded its a 60/40 mix. Less the idiot, because the washed up radio head drunk converted to a religion with a significant media network.
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

But in direct answer to your comment, I'm simply applying LDS doctrine to daily life such as politics. It's quite clear that it's not possible to be left wing or USA Democrat and also believing LDS.

The Gospel according to BC. But BC is simply wrong and he often is. I would tell you what I think of your stupid statement BC but it would get deleted.

Hmmm? Beck's success on the national talk show scene, on CNN and now a show on FOX is due to the LDS Church's media network? I think not.

That's why I gave both wiki and dickipedia references. He's a shock- jock, and no one needs to go easy on shock-jocks. They certainly don't go easy on others.

I know because I listened to shock-jocks for 16 years, the Aussie ones of course.

That was Rommelator's title.

I don't know him well. Being a Mormon and a shock-jock would not be easy. I'd think, in fact, almost incompatible. WWJD?

I am not sure I would rate him up there with shock jock, at least not along the lines of a Michael Savage or a Howard Stern. He is fairly tame comparatively. He really is more of Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity type. His major focus over the past year really has been economic issues and he actually was talking about an imminent economic melt down before it happened.

I think there's some media debate about that, Jason.

Media Matters.

I would really like to know what in the world he's talking about when he claims that the constitution is now hanging by a thread, which he has done since the election. I could understand if he said that the economy was hanging, but the constitution?

I listen to Beck quite frequently. Have you ever listened to him? Watched his show? Or just are you looking at a few well edited tid bits and sound bites?
