I've written in my NIV [nearly inspired version] all over. I've even had a LDS missionary write inside the back cover. Of course, this was a hardcover.

I'm in the market for an ESV study Bible myself. It is a very good translation. I can't afford an expensive one, so I will probably get the hardcover.

I thought it was sort of ironic that it is available in "goat" skin rather than "sheep" skin.
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.” Psalm 145:18-19 ESV

The major influence that formed my attitude is that I have never found anything interesting written in any book that I have found to be inscribed by a previous reader, whether borrowed from a library or bought at second-hand. I make notes from books as part of the way I earn my living, but I use slips of paper or do it direct onto my computer.

I hope at least that you don't write in library books, do you?
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Like Geo. Washington, I cannot tell a lie...(Unless I have to :-) I have marked a very small # of Library books throughout my 70 years of reading... However, to me, in my books, marking is simply a part of reading. Always with the intention of getting back to it. Truthfully, I seldom do...but maybe, and that was/is worth remembering.

I was born long before "Sticky Notes" I do have them, but they're so inconvenient, and they don't personalize my property. Unblemished seems so sterile. Ya know what I mean?

How do you earn your living? Sounds interesting...
