Re: Necrotic arm of Moroni On Oquirrh Temple
Hi Nitelion,
Let's say the day comes, God begins pouring out his wrath, and now you are the new leader of Zion. Are you ready, or even interested in the day-to-day challenges of 1) dealing with the problems of thousands of people as their leader 2) everything in 1 with the added challenges of surviving in the mountains? I mean, you're not going to get a whole lot of guitar time in. And once the prophecies start unfolding, you won't have the mystical element to look forward to anymore, you're now dealing with the day-to-day reality of survival in the mountains with people who are far from having a pioneer background. The fun and games of prophecy and the mysteries of Godliness are going to be over, and your life reduced to boring day-to-day survival 99% of the time.
Just about every "prophet" I've met online seems to fit the mold of being creative, artistic, kind of a loner, sensitive, and clearly the type that would have a nervous breakdown in a leadership position with war, famine, and disasters surrounding them. Now, there are semi-rugged types with a "last days" streak like Droopy who would do ok on the survival level, but lack leadership, charisma (to an extraordinary degree), and usually aren't dead set on being the futuristic Prince David anyway. It's very rare to get creativity, leadership, self-sufficiency, and the belief in one's own greatness in the mix Joseph Smith had.
Rather, the online prophet types are usually artsy/flakey/imaginative types who never have struck me as having thought through the endgame of their fantasies. After the thrill of having all your prophecies confirmed and telling everyone you were right all along, the Last Days are really going to suck.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

Great post, Gad. I see you've still got it.
Do you imagine some hard-case like Droopy could team up with a sensitive savant like Nightlion and together they could do some real damage? How far could they go? From all the seasons of Survivor I've watched, I think the sensitive savant usually comes out on top when the masses hold the final vote -- not that this would happen in a real Last Days scenario, where the masses would dwindle under the depredations of cannibalism.

How many times must I deny that I am the ONE MIGHTY AND STRONG?
It won't help. The One Might and Strong would be exceedingly humble. Your denial just proves that you're Him.
My reading of Mount Olympus, the torrential rains in Utah, this blackened Angel Moroni, all tend to indicate the time is getting short. Things need to move and get up to speed.
Having studied the faces of four separate English muffins today, I can say with 100% certainty that you are wrong.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I, for one, am not denying that I am the one mighty and strong.
I, for one, welcome my new Spiritual Overlord.

Dude,
Thank you for the brotherly support. You definitely have an advantage here as I've never watched reality TV, there may not be a better way to predict how people from our time will act in a time of calamity. As far as Droopy and Nitelion teaming up, maybe Droopy can write the lyrics for Nitelion's songs? In all seriousness, I can't even imagine a conversation between Droopy and Nitelion. It would be very weird.

Have you been reading Cormac McCarthy?

A good analog of the conversation might be between Pedro and Napoleon.

According to the scripture that this is based upon it has to be a being clothed with light for a covering. That would be a resurrected individual and one resurrected to glory.
Just because the spiritually dumb make this claim it is no excuse to have to deny it and deny it and deny it.
I am a remnant of Zion. If you want to be a part of Zion maybe I can help.
The LDS Church is not to be rescued anyway. It gets the gospel taken away as it falls with the rest of Babylon. This sign on the top of the "almost dedicated" Oquirrh Temple is presage of:
THAT THE TIMES
THEY ARE A CHANGIN"

You sound like Joseph Smith, you know, with all the crazy.
Thanks bud, I knew you could pay a compliment.
I feel like Brigham Young, shouting halleluia to think that I even know about Joseph Smith. Faith would not survive the last days without the knowledge he restored.
