Whomever can profit from Mormonism will profit from Mormonism. This includes Ed Decker.

So your claims in the OP are wrong? You seem to be changing your story.

For the benefit of the retarded here is the "OP" you mention:

Taking the lead from MormonCorp, here are my steps to become rich:

1. Establish an investment fund for a non-profit

2. Guilt people into contributing to said fund

3. Purchase assets through this fund and gift it to a separate corporation

4. Sell assets and take the profit

5. Repeat steps until you have a well established real estate company you claim is not spending money from the initial investment fund

6. Run away from the country and live off the interest attained through Property Reserve Inc....I mean...the "separate corporation".

Property Reserve Inc/Intelectual Reserve Inc/etc IS the Mormon "church". Its as simple as that.

Where did I state what you are claiming? You REALLY need to lay off the Anime. Its put a hole in your head.

So "MormonCorp" is profiting (as stated in the OP) how?

BCSpace knows he has the luxury of hiding behind the church's closed books policy. It means he/she can throw out questions like "how is anyone profiting"" without the risk of getting a concrete answer.

BC, as you know, who profits from Mormonism, or how cannot be proved any more.

But when a "non-profit" decides it doesn't owe contributors a financial disclosure, it also works the other way. It can't be proved that someone ISN"T profiting from the enterprise.

Don't you think that a "non-profit" that is acting purely as advertised(as the church of god) with it's money, would be interested in fully disclosing it's financials for all the world to see how god works?

Does their secrecy alone tell you anything about "how is anyone profiting from Mormonism?" BC?

I don't see any GA in it for the money. But I do see a lot of faith that it is all true. But when one considers the amount of time that one needs to put into the LDS church if one is a GA, the financial rewards would be small. Their position is time consuming and rough on the family. But are they amassing great riches? No.

Perhaps the LDS church needs to go back to a log cabin. Maybe that would satisfy the critics on this thread.

What would satisfy the critics on this and many other threads is if the church got out of business and spent tithing on what the church needs, not what property reserve and greedy Mormon real estate asshats want.

You didn't state anything in support of your OP, that's the point.

The story you gave didn't seem to have "Mormon Corp." profiting from the deal which is a 180 degree departure from your OP claim.

While there's no direct proof the GAs are pulling the same type of con Fulton did, why would Monson or any other GAs allow crooks like Fulton to pull the deal they did with them not somehow being in on the take themselves. Remember, as said before, this is only the deal we know about, with a deal like Fulton's affecting the church finance committee and a company owned by a member of the committee, it seems like anyone "looking the other way" on these deals, such as the GA, would have to be accomplices, if not receiving a kickback from some of these deals themselves.

We didn't hear of Monson or any other GAs pressing charges when the Fulton deal occured, nor did we hear of a restructuring of the finance committee. Therefore, it stands to reason that Monson & co. approve of the current business model of the LDS church, which is obviously tainted.

I don't know much about the case but it is not unusual for a church not to press charges of fraud. Usually, they leave it in god's hands. For example, someone a year or two ago, burned down a chapel and he was caught. The LDS church to my knowledge did not press charges.

Shady deals can happen from cheats who are out to cheat people who tend to see people has good. In terms of kickbacks etc, I do believe that if any GA received a kickback it would be found out and dealt with. People are human and we all make mistakes. And if it did happen, I would not blame the church for a man's mistake. However, if it were rampant throughout the leadership and it was all a gimmick. well that would be different and would need to be looked into.

Is that something you would really like to know? If the church had any respect for it's donors, it would eliminate your "if" and simply publish reports on where god spends his money, no? Then members like you wouldn't even have to wonder.

Why do you suppose the church chooses(since 1959 anyway) to be secretive and invite suspicion rather than report it's finances? Wouldn't reporting on the finances of god's one true church garner enormous goodwill with everyone in and out of the church? What is the downside of doing that, if the church is on the inside the same thing it purports to be on the outside?

bcspace wrote:That's funny, I don't see anyone making a profit or aggrandizing themselves from tithing funds in the LDS Church. Well, except for that Korean branch pres in LA long ago who misunderstood the concept.....

Well, how can I expect you to understand unless you sit one of those high Chairs & be in charge of the money.
Have you ever had a job like that, that nobody can ask you where the money goes, how you spend the money?
Trust me, it is very gratifying. Even if you do everything in moderation, that means you go five times more on vacations, travel alot wherever you wish.
I like my job, I am sure they do too.
