MormonTimes article on the origins of FAIR
Re: MormonTimes article on the origins of FAIR
I want to take this opportunity to encourage FAIR to grow and wax strong in their mission of driving wavering saints from the church Colbert style.
Wait a minute...
ETA: now they banned me to the point I can't even read the threads. I am amazingly subversive it seems.

This article is a parody, right?

Some people just can't handle the truth.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

MAD has recently changed its' format. You have to be a registered member to even read the threads.

They navigated the rough-and-tumble world of America Online message boards, places where people could post comments on various topics such as religion. AOL used volunteers to monitor comments. These volunteers could give out warnings for what they considered poor behavior. Three warnings and a person could be banned.Three warnings? That's exactly three more than MA&D gives. They have nothing to complain about.
"It was just ugly. Very hateful," Reynolds said. "It was very discriminatory. They were pretty much allowed to run all over us and there wasn't much we could do about it.""Just ugly?" "Very hateful?" "Very discriminatory?" Sounds like such an environment was right up her alley, considering how hard she's worked to duplicate it.
Having been there (the AOL LDD) at the time myself, as well as the various chats (some of which still exist with the same people) I have to say I agree with Juliann. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it was worse for Mormons there than for any of you critics on the MADB except for Kevin Graham.

Bwahahaha! So they've finally become so embarrassed by their own arguments that they no longer dare to let outsiders view them--now that's rich!
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Well, since I didn't participate in the AOL LDD, I'll take your word for it. All I can say is, based on the cruelty that was inflicted upon Kevin, myself, Harmony, Jersey Girl, Beastie, and several others, the AOL LDD must have been a literal blood bath.

I was banned many times. It got so bad that if you even posted a link to a reference, you would be banned for posting offensive material. That is because anyone who reported a post got their wish of having a person banned without any apparent review of the merits of the post.
I once discussed with someone my interest in astronomy and showed him a link to the telescope I coveted. I was then banned for commercial advertising.
And then you had to speak to a customer service rep in India to get restored. Depsite the accent barrier, those culturally ignorant (of American culture and religion) people could never understand why a banning took place and would restore you after about half the usual time.

So, as Wade would say, MAD just decided to "mirror" their behavior.

Sorry...couldn't resist. LOL
