How easy it is to predict the future when the "future" is already past!

This applies to predictions made in:

The Book of Abraham (predicting the advent of Canaanites)
Book of Mormon (predicting Columbus, Joseph Smith, etc)
The New Testament (predicting the destruction of the temple, when it had already happened before the New Testament was written)

We can see that apologetic necessity spurs the apologist into creating spurious arguments and dishonesty in the face of facts in order to "save Joseph" as someone else put it. bcspace would rather willfully misrepresent Mormon scripture than admit that Joseph goofed up.

Okay, so you take the future interpetation. How do we know that is correct? The context itself suggests that the present is more likely. In verse 4 we see that the Lord will show him the generations of the earth. It is clear that he is going from the present to the far future so the question is when does he shift from the present to forward into the future? Not til after verse 10 where Enoch is still receive intructions for the present.

Consider also which land the Lord cursed with much heat such that a skin of blackness came upon the people. Which had more heat, Africa or Canaan/Palestine/Syria? Who has the darker skin, the Africans or the Middle Eastern peoples?

Moses 7 mentions the descendants of Canaan. If Joseph got the time line wrong, that is not evidence in favor of Joseph. Again, there is no mention of two groups of Canaanites - not in LDS scripture, not in legitimate ancient history. That is entirely your invention of apologetic expediency.
