That's why priesthood holders carry around the little vial of lube... it's good for what ails ya.

OK Just Me. Here's the deal. Heavenly Mother hears the prayers of women every time. Try praying to her and you will find success without fail. Interestingly, I have found that she listens to men's prayers too. I think Heavenly Mother is just more open to prayers in general. Heavenly Father is a little more strict. The LDS leadership is wary of praying to HM so that is why they persist in the male dominant thing. Sorry. Maybe you could convince TSM to include a prayer to HM at the October conference?

Calling all apologists! Please help us to understand this.

I can give you my reasoning if you want:

Unwritten Order of who does what in GC:

First Presidency each speak twice (Prophet also does intro and closing)
Each Apostle speaks
One member of every auxiliary organization speaks (Relief Society, YM, YW, Primary, Sunday School)
One member of Presiding Bishopric speaks
All the rest of the talks and prayers are delegated to the Seventies

So unless you replaced a talk from Relief Society, YW, or Primary with a prayer or double up one presidency it works easiest this way.

There are (by my count) twelve sisters on the stand in General Conference and three of them speak.

Ceeboo, you made me smile. I do realize more than ever that men have a whole different view and vocabulary than women do. I really like that the Catholic faith has such a devotion to Mary. Perhaps if God can't understand women she can. *wink*

Zee, I agree that praying to the Goddess is very reliable. Gaia is my favorite.

Blessed be. )O(

How, exactly, is this easier than asking a woman to pray?

It makes me kind of sad that people are afraid to worship Mary. I mean, why not?

That was my initial thought to. One day a woman will say a prayer at GC. I don't know if it will be soon though.

Why is this easier? And why is easier supposed to correlate to God's way?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
