How Third Reich and Stalinistic of them. Wonder if they come by these bannings after praying and through inspiration of the Holy Ghost?

Re: Consiglieri BANNED from MAD!
It is an unusual coincidence that I should be banned from MDD Board the same day my 14-year old daughter received a letter rejecting her application as a counselor at a horse camp she has attended for many years on the basis she is a Mormon.

Bringing a flurry of renewed activity from the likes of Wade and William along with him. I assume part of their moving back here was based on how darn boring things got after the MDD move.
I have posted very little there since the change, as every time I looked the same 20 subjects were always on page one … it got very slow.
anyway, looks as if they are headed to a totally inbread board with zero diversity. Not as they had a lot to start with.
Do you think that this could be some sort of a systematic push on their part to turn the forum into even more of an apologist base? Let me explain.
One of the things that brought me to this forum originally from that forum (where I have since had my original accounts banned) was a post by cinepro, which lead me to his blog, which lead me to here and the NOM board. It was actually the latter two boards that allowed me to solidify my doubts about the church into a rejection of religion entirely.
However, if the moderators systematically ban the "apostate" accounts (like cinepro, consig, etc.) over there, presumably the chances of that happening would be reduced in the future for someone like me. In that way, they could at least maintain for a little while longer the illusion that the church has answers to difficult questions instead of minting doubters into ex-mormons, like they are currently.
Any thoughts?

Seriously, though. I'm curious. What happened? They said, "No, you may not be a counselor at our camp because you are Mormon"? What kind of camp is this?
Or if it's too personal, disregard my nosiness.

I will accept this if you will provide evidence of the board's gulags and/or concentration camps.
Otherwise I will assume it is stupid hyperbole and reference Godwin's Law.

Re: Consiglieri BANNED from MAD!
keithb,
Yes, I do believe they base a lot of decisions on lurkers and the need to look good.
However, there is SO much history here. I assume that others are like me in that I assume MI and FAIR needed/wanted to distance themselves even further from what had become the unofficial apologetics board, with the likes of DCP being their king.
The problem was that even DCP had many posts/threads that I'm sure he and his employer regretted. The MAD to MDD not only removed the assumed/implied relationship of MI/FAIR as apologetic organizations with the apologetic board , but gave them good reason to "archive" what they wanted to keep and cleanse what would look bad for key players and their organizations.
After spending all that effort to "cleanse" the board, they are in no hurry to allow name brand apologist to have any kind embarrassing history recorded there (hence the WS bannings).
The sickening part of the whole deal to me is what upsets so many members and critics alike. You cannot just sweep unpleasant facts under the rug, hide the evidence and present some other sweetened version for the world to see.
When will devote leaders, congregations, orginizations, even websites learn that "lying for the lord", sooner or later is always going to backfire.
And what an example of how easy it is to fall into the pit of lying for the lord.

Re: Consiglieri BANNED from MAD!
Well let's face it, Will being blocked from publication due to the part of the apostate concerns, is quite an embarrassing thing for them to handle right now. With Pahoran as moderator, it is little wonder this information is kept beyond the realm of open discussion. I mean how could it not be relevant to LDS apologetics? You know damn well if Brent Metcalfe or Dan Vogel were blocked from publication due to some nasty things they had said on the internet, it would result in a 50 page thread within a few days.
But the more I think about this incident with Will, the more I realize just how friggin embarrassing it is for them. After all, Will has been bragging for years about his connections with the upper tier in LDS scholarship. He has quipped that they approve of his antics and has even dared us to make his antics known to a wider audience. I announced an upcoming expose of William Schryver some two years ago and he keeps telling me he looks forward to it, insisting his friends will laugh along with him when they find out what he has been saying on this forum.
William has also taken the initiate to black ball LDS scholars he suspects is working against him, such as David Bokovoy. William called him out and threatened him, saying any effort on his part to curb Schryver's publication effort would backfire on him. He then went on to email several LDS scholars to talk about Bokovoy as a prospective apostate or what not. It is the usual tripe with this guy. Agree with me or suffer my gossipy wrath. Will has shown that he has the time and dedication to lobby profusely for whatever cause he finds worth doing.
And now we find out that nothing William has said turned out to be true.
LDS scholars actually do not like what he has said.
Nobody is laughing with Will.
Bokovoy's efforts didn't backfire.
And most importantly, Will has been thrown off the publication schedule at NAMI.
Yes, I think this is a subject worthy of discussion at MAD because it should serve as a perfect example what not to do if you're trying to further a career in apologetics. But the folks at MAD/FAIR have never been interested in self-reflection, self-criticism or self-improvement.
Ever.
They are interested in one thing and one thing alone: protecting the members of the tribe.

Is anyone else as amused as I am when they emulate a church they deny exists?
