So because there is no mention of such a marriage, you assume it had already taken place? Why not assume it never took place?
Okay, lets reason together, shall we? People do not get married in heaven. Especially in a pre-existence. And yet, these two were commanded right off to multiply and replenish. And just a few verses[read, billions of years] later they finish all the host thereof.
Moses3:1
1 Thus the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
This accounts for the spirit body birth of the souls in the pre-existence. This occurred after God commanded Adam and Eve to multiply and where all things were created first in heaven before there was flesh upon the earth.
Moses 3:5
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all the children of men; and not yet a man to till the ground; for in heaven created I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air;
Here is the relevant scripture that PRECEDES this creation of ALL the children of men:
Moses 2:27-28
27 And I, God, created man in mine own image, in the image of mine Only Begotten created I him; male and female created I them.
28 And I, God, blessed them, and said unto them: Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
That was at the end of the DAYS of creation. So we have no reference as to how long exactly it may have been before all the host of them were finished. But it was before Adam and Eve moved on to enter the Garden of Eden .
Your can argue the man and woman in question are not Adam and Eve. Who then? It was not God the Eternal Father. He was the creator and commander and not the seed bearer who was commanded to multiply and replenish.
For this man to be Adam and this woman to be Eve they would have had to have had their spirits put into the forms of clay that God had formed. A mystery? Perhaps up until 1983 when I first wrote the Wonders Of Eternity.
Joseph said that we are a spirit from age to age. Meaning that as organized intelligence we were spirits. As begotten spirit body children we were spirits. As men we are awaiting our spiritual creation in the resurrection. The substance of even resurrected beings is more refined and pure and is more spiritual that what we could consider physical. As Christ could pass through walls and yet manifest tangible to doubting Thomas. Or Moroni could suddenly appear to young Joseph.
The lumps of clay fashioned for Adam and Eve were actually to make for a tether to hold their spirit bodies that had the power of the resurrection and could waft away from the earth with a thought IF they had not been tethered by placing them in a coarseness of unrefined material that the Lord called clay.
This, by the way, was not a pleasant experience. So Adam took the full weight of it and AFTER he had assimilated the elements and tempered it somewhat those coarser elements were as if taken from the side of Adam to form the tether for Eve. How gentlemanly.
