Blixa,

Here is a place I did some work in. It is zion. People ride horses up here. You would love it, I think.

I posted this in a separate thread, too. But one of the most Zion-esque places I have ever been is at the top of the Apocalrock. This photo was taken by myself way back in 2006.

Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?

And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

And have probably even heard it sung.

Most cool. I have actually never been up on top. Can I use the picture, Simon? Please? If there would be any way you could e-mail it so I can enlarge it that would be over the top nice of you. apocalrock@live.com Thanks

You know what Nightlion? You can use it! I will e-mail it and a few others when I get home, but you mustn't reveal my identity to anyone! Deal?

Great shot, Simon!

I've never been to the top either (though I looked at that mountain everyday for many years).

Your photo made me curious so I zoomed in on it with Google Earth (love the internet). The entire top of the mountain consists of what looks like successive layers of sedimentary rocks, standing on their ends. Depending on the age of the layers, I'll bet there are some really interesting fossils up there.

I don't know how Nightlion (or you) might feel about two hundred million year old fossils on Apocolrock.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I feel awesome about it. I used to go fossil hunting as a little tyke with my father. I loved it!

I heard (though I don't know) that the broken-up rocks on the peak(s) of Mt. Olympus were due to lightning. I hope someone can back this up or debunk it. I am no earth scientist.
