Good for you.

A question, If I were to get a derogatory or threatening PM from Joseph, can I post a link to it elsewhere on the web without getting suspended? I just want to know the rules.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I assume mention can be made of receiving a harassing PM or email from someone without revealing the exact contents of the communication. Is this assumption correct?

Transparency would help Shades when we are dealing with an unstable nutlog with a loose grasp of ethical behavior and social community.

Remember, we try to go by the spirit of the law, not the letter of the law. Unlike the MD&D moderators, I won't try to police the entire Internet, but if you refrained from posting such a link, that would definitely be the high road.

You assume wrong.

Is this assumption correct?

No. It is highly INcorrect. NOT SO MUCH AS A WHIFF OF ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY RELATED TO ANY GOINGS-ON VIA PM.

I agree. Therefore, when Jersey Girl comes back, send her a message and be as transparent as you want via PM.

That isn't even funny. None of us know the extent to which some loose cannon has been able to threaten this board with his media illiteracy. So we're left to wonder what in a world of tumblr and mashups has caused this retrograde jackbooting to have any effect.

It doesn't really engender much trust, Shades...

What if Joseph consented to the PM being posted, just to clear things up?

Which is precisely why it's so much easier/better to just leave out any discussions of PMs at all.

It doesn't matter. NO PM POSTINGS/REFERENCES WHATSOEVER. Otherwise, the whole board devolves into discussing that and nothing else.

Just look at the direction this very thread has taken, for example.

You said that Admin and mods will operate by "the spirit of the law", not the "letter of the law". Considering this could be a threat to MDB being shut down, you're steadfastly sticking to the "letter" on this occasion? Not to mention the fear all posters now have. Every time they will want to post an image, this bogey man is going to make them think twice, and it's going to turn a lot of people off.

Thanks! Fair enough. I'm happy to take the high road.

Okay, fine. If you can convince Joseph to allow people to post his PMs, then they can post them just this once.
