Re: Theosis Doctrine an Alleged "Miracle"
I think the discussion about the similarities between the historical Christian doctrine of theosis and the Mormon doctrine of exaltation (assuming, arguendo, that they still teach that) would have made for an interesting article. Unfortunately, the Portly Professor instead chose to write an article in which he either ignorantly or disingenuously conflates the two and, without evidentiary support (typically, for him) asserts that Smith's doctrine of exaltation was a miraculous restoration of the ancient Christian doctrine.
Ms. Jack, I liked the excerpt from the celestial marriage manual from your post here: http://www.patheos.com/Resources/Additi ... ation.html
I wonder how a world governed by an "imperfect god" would be any more disastrous than the world we live in, which is allegedly governed by a perfect God.

Can you imagine the state of the universe if imperfect gods were allowed to spawn their imperfections throughout space, if beings who did not have law under their subjection were free to create worlds?

Yep. I think my brother-in-law will probably do as well with his worlds as HF has done with this one. And my BIL is an a-hole.

In the latest Dan Brown novel The Lost Symbol it says stuff about the Theosis Doctrine, therefore it is true. Stop mindless questioning and do your home teaching.
