Parasites? I work hard to help my clients. In return they compensate me for my time and effort.

For what its worth, I am a life-long Republican but strongly disapprove of the Christian Right that has hijacked the party.

Also, my MBA taught me that 1) Keynesian economics are very good descriptors of our economic reality and that 2) a so-called federal balanced budget is a clumsy political ploy and makes about as much policy sense as a, well, nothing.

I respectfully disagree.

The Christian Right hijacked the party when Reagan courted their vote. Prior to allowing their "moral" agenda take over the party, Republicanism was more akin to Libertarianism than it is today. I hope for the day when my party returns to the views and sentiments expressed by Reagan when he campaigned for Goldwater. "The Speech", I believe, as it is sometimes called, encapsulates what Republicanism *should* be about and also sadly demonstrates how far we have deviated from these basic principles espousing he virtue of human autonomy.
