Re: Question for Uncle Dale or any one else?
I've asked this repeatedly on other sites and never quite been answered. That's because it happens so rarely one hardly knows of it. Let's face it. How many of us wanted to be known as a nay sayer? I was a female, lower on the totem pole. I sure as hell wasn't going to vote against somebody in a public forum. Even though I wanted to.

Just curious, has anyone ever read of a past doctrine, teaching, or person receiving a "nay" vote in sustaining it/them...much less a rejection of the teaching or person?
Has anyone been in a service and seen a "nay" vote? I never did.
In writing this I wonder if there is anything in the hand book that deal with what to do if more hands were raised in the negative? I'll have to check it out...Any ex-brethern ever have to deal with this.
Thanks
Mark
When I as a bishop two men in the EQ opposed the sustaining of their EQ president.

And I've seen opposition to a bishop, a stake president and a high councilor, the latter two who were either relatives or good friends of mine.
In all cases the objections have been not very weighty, at least the objections I've known about.

Hey Jason,
How did you handle it? Whats the policy?
Haven't talked with you in a while, how is your son doing in the service?
Thanks
Mark
