It's really slow. The mods promised more freedom of thought and expression of actual LDS issues, but since that hasn't materialized, people have seemed much less enthusiastic.

BC,
What do you consider an "actual LDS issue"?
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

I don't get what you mean. The mods promised "more" freedom when there has always been absolute freedom? And that hasn't materialized? How so?
The person who is certain and who claims divine warrant for his certainty belongs now to the infancy of our species. Christopher Hitchens

Not this board, Lucretia... he's referring to the MAD, formerly known as FAIR, board.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
You might find the threads here and at MADB regarding Don Bradley's Kinderhook presentation interesting. Especially fascinating is reading how both sides view it as evidence of Joseph Smith's claims.
Hey FS,
Although I can't see the MADB any more (Banned for life I guess?), I have taken a short journey on the "Kinderhook" thread here at MDB. It was indeed interesting. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
