Think about it. You die, see the bright light, go like the Millenium Falcon at the speed of light through space to arrive near Kolob where you find yourself in the joint, a.k.a. spirit prison, for not joining the Mormons on earth.

Along comes a spirit in standard issue shirt, tie, and dress pants. They tell you, and perhaps show you that your Mormon mortal work has been performed and asks you if you accept this to posthumously become a Mormon member.

WTF? Of course you will accept that because you already know the outcome of not accepting it. On top of that, the "missionary" is an obvious Mormon and is not incarcerated in the same slammer as you.

My mother would Trump me with the old "we will know everything when we die.

Stupid f'n religion.

Temple work is NOT giving everyone a second chance. It is not even so much for giving those who did not get a chance to hear. It is ONLY for those very few who WOULD have accepted the gospel in this life with all their hearts IF given a chance. Scarce few indeed. To realize exactly how few think that out of all the Mormons now living, NONE of them receive the gospel with all their hearts. But the LDS want to make cheeseburgers and fries out of the higher ordinance of the Restoration and put a temple on every block so that they can generate huge revenue. Now that is stupid religion! Unless money is your religion as it is with tare Gentiles.

relationships one had in mortality, not being sealed, would tend to fade away.

And how would this happen, exactly?

Unlike being sealed, maybe in the TKs you would have to be around people after you stopped loving or liking them. If you're sealed in the CK, you're stuck for eternity with someone even after you realize that he or she is not that great to be with any longer.

Well, if one accepts the neutered speculation, one could see a growing apart of erstwhile couples in the lower kingdoms. But perhaps there is something akin to turning the "hearts of the fathers to the children" etc. in the sealing so when one is not sealed, the relation and expectation fades over time. Afterall, in mortality, it was until death do you part in those cases.
