1) Does Cassius offer a 401K plan or a defined benefit pension plan or some combination of the two? I hope that your accomplishments will be recognized financially as well as academically.
2) Have you informed your bishop that you are now available for fulltime senior missionary work? There is a pressing need as you know.
All the best!
Excellent questions, Phillip. Actually, the Cassius U defined benefit plan was converted years ago to a cash balance plan, preserving all previously accrued benefits as employees' benefits, converting them into actuarially equivalent lump sums in the resulting cash balance plan. And of course, there is a 401k plan with a generous fixed match, which Dr Scratch took full advantage of. Dr Scratch is an astute investor, and since he has been allowed to direct the investment of what had been his defined benefits, his cash balance (and 401k) investments have out performed the benchmark of any major employer's pension committee in recent years. Good that his benefits were not limited to the old defined benefit formula. Dr Scratch will, by virtue of his own astuteness, be well taken care of by his accumulations in these plans.
I don't have information about question #2.
