WOWZA! Do you really think that, in the after life we will be calling ourselves "Mormon?"

Simon, can you explain how a Non-Mormon can comply with this?
(D&C Section 76)

50 And again we bear record—for we saw and heard, and this is the testimony of the gospel of Christ concerning them who shall come forth in the resurrection of the just—
 51 They are they who received the testimony of Jesus, and believed on his name and were baptized after the manner of his burial, being buried in the water in his name, and this according to the commandment which he has given—
 52 That by keeping the commandments they might be washed and cleansed from all their sins, and receive the Holy Spirit by the laying on of the hands of him who is ordained and sealed unto this power;
 53 And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.
 54 They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.
 55 They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things—
 56 They are they who are priests and kings, who have received of his fulness, and of his glory;
 57 And are priests of the Most High, after the order of Melchizedek, which was after the order of Enoch, which was after the order of the Only Begotten Son.
 58 Wherefore, as it is written, they are gods, even the sons of God—
 59 Wherefore, all things are theirs, whether life or death, or things present, or things to come, all are theirs and they are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
 60 And they shall overcome all things.
 61 Wherefore, let no man glory in man, but rather let him glory in God, who shall subdue all enemies under his feet.
 62 These shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ forever and ever.
 63 These are they whom he shall bring with him, when he shall come in the clouds of heaven to reign on the earth over his people.
 64 These are they who shall have part in the first resurrection.
 65 These are they who shall come forth in the resurrection of the just.
 66 These are they who are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly place, the holiest of all.
 67 These are they who have come to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of Enoch, and of the Firstborn.
 68 These are they whose names are written in heaven, where God and Christ are the judge of all.
 69 These are they who are just men made perfect through Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, who wrought out this perfect atonement through the shedding of his own blood.
 70 These are they whose bodies are celestial, whose glory is that of the sun, even the glory of God, the highest of all, whose glory the sun of the firmament is written of as being typical.

Simon?

Also, it may be worth explaining what the grown ups think happen to women in the Celestial Kingdom because they don't appear to be mentioned scripturally...

That's right, you should stop there before you embarrass yourself even more.

I complete agree with the sentiments of the blogger here. In fact, this is the exact term that I have used with my ex-Mormon friends before when discussing the church.

Consider another place where you would have a 40 year old man asking another 30 year old man or woman about the intimate details of their sex lives, or their personal finances, or their consumption of alcohol?

Every so often, even though I don't believe in the church any longer, I have a strong temptation to go back to church, mostly for the social aspects of it and to make peace with my family. However, the times I have seriously consider it, I am stopped by the reality of the Mormon culture, with this aspect of it being perhaps the most off putting. I seriously couldn't stand to sit through an interview with someone my own age or a little older -- a stranger -- and have him ask me to tell him details about my life that I would probably not tell my closest friends. I can even imagine about how one of these interviews would go:

Bishop: Do you keep the law of chastity?

Me: Mind your own damned business!

And, I'm not sure where the interview goes from there.

The church loves to point its fingers at the world and mock the ways of the world continoulsy while it acts holy and sanctimonious. That is the gasoline that drives the engine of the church. It's a holier-than-thou approach and the world be damned. In fact, it's right there in the scriptures and not even Simon-boy or Bot-boy can deny it. Mormons think they are better than everyone else. They think their church is better than every other church. They think their church will one day preside over the whole earth with Jesus coming back to claim it for his own.

Mormonism is the kind of religion that has stewards (bishops) who will gladly yank a temple recommend away the moment they find out a grown adult masturbates. That is the mentality of this high moral ground which Mormonism claims to possess. It has every hallmark of being a controlling cult and its goal is to controll your crotch and collect a tenth of your paycheck. With that said, just look at its founding leaders! Consider Brigham Young controlling his crotch . . . . he couldn't keep his hand off it for 5 minutes but had a harem at his bedside. He was a disgusting man -- a religious tyrant, perhaps as bad as Moses himself. Even Jesus would have been disgusted.

But when Brigham spoke or wrote, the thinking was done. The saints believed he was a holy prophet and that his thinking was in line with God's. Women flocked to his bed like mindless children ready to be told what to do and how to perform for him. The church, like Brigham Young, exists to tell you what to do and how to think.
