You know there is nothing in official doctrine that prohibits TBMs from having a sense of humor, in fact I know for myself that they can be funny. I attended a stake conference in Chile where Bruce R McConkie made the entire conference laugh. Though I should probably mention that he was unknowingly using a very rude South American hand gesture, with both hands, to emphasize his talk, but that is besides the point.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."
The first goal of the mods at MDD should be to fix the weird glitch that causes the letter immediately following an apostrophe to be capitalized. That'S the most needful thing.
Secondly, they should install a spell check program, or at least extend the calling of Spell Checker to a few of the more literate posters.
And lastly, limiting sig lines to fewer characters would substantially improve the readability of their board. Some of the existing sig lines are outlandishly long.
Banning apostates and needling MDB posters should commence after the aforementioned tasks have been completed. As I tell my girls, chores first, play second.
Nemesis seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of this board.

MASH quotes I peeked in the back [of the Bible] Frank, the Devil did it. I avoid church religiously. This isn't one of my sermons, I expect you to listen.

It appears that way. Apparently, you can ban people, but you can't leave them alone. :)
She/he can't resist indulging s/his crush on the Banites.

You know what's weird? I still feel kind of bad that I got banned from that place. It bothers me knowing I did something that made people I'd been friendly with for years throw me out. Oh, well.

I hope there wasn't any loud laughter or light-mindedness resulting from McConkie's jest.

I've heard from several people who knew him that McConkie had a great sense of humor but felt that, as an apostle, he had to keep that side of him hidden.

Peer pressure at its worst.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
