On seeing this my irony meter leapt off the table, ran down the street, climbed a tall building and threw itself off....

Yeah. I did a double take when I read that.

To the OP, dark helmet, try the more refined approach. Tell your family members that they cannot be Mormon and vote in the Republican primary for anyone but Mitt. I've heard a couple of local Mormon crackpots tell me that one.

No, I don't think it is. See, that was easy. Now will you answer my question?
BCSpace has already made a clear and unequivocal statement on this board that it is not possible for a member of the Church to be a Democrat and not be in apostasy - In other words, a member of the Church who is a Democrat is in apostasy.
I did a double-take when I saw it and I don't think it is worth looking up again, because it was not that long ago and anyone on this thread who is interested would have already seen it.

Not just BC Space. Droopy and ldsfaqs also believe that. So it is now from the mouth of 3 witnesses, which makes it true.

My niece's husband is a staunch Democrat (and friend of the Romneys). He's definitely more socially conservative than most Democrats (and more so than I am), but he's fiscally somewhere to the left of Obama. I wonder if he needs to be hauled in for a talk with his bishop. I should mention he works in the Justice Department.

By assuming membership in the Church or holding a TR blesses or excuses one's political beliefs in socialism or the left wing is to erroneously assume that membership and/or a TR is an automatic ticket to heaven or the CK.
