I'm guessing syphilis originated among the millions of indigenous Americans who lived there long before the Jaredits and Nephites arrived.

It might be a good guess, Runtu, except, without evolution, how would it originate other than a fiat from God?

It looks like the "flying spaghetti monster", but this is an electron micrograph of syphilis bacteria. It's always the little things that shoot down big theories and wild religious claims.
