OJ Simpson was the victim of a racist police department. Rodney King was an innocent man. When I was a school teacher they claimed black children were punished more because they were black and the teachers/administration were racist. They completely ruled out the possiblity that they might actually be the ones misbehaving more. It goes on and on. I've lived with it my entire life. It's called the "race card."
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Who is "they"?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Could be. Nobody said they were perfect just because they were persecuted.

However - do you think there is any doubt that black people in the US have suffered, and continue to suffer, a very significant amount of persecution just because they are black?

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

OJ Simpson was certainly guilty, but it's a fact that blacks are punished more harshly for the same crimes than whites. Whites can get away with a lot more mischief in a America than blacks.

Sure, there will always be instances of imagined persecution in any group. But there is also plenty of real persecution against blacks in America, and gays too. I can't think of any real persecution against Mormons in the last 100 years.

Persecution and prejudiced are bad at all levels.
It still puts my gut in knots to discuss it.
Don't put O.J. Up when you talk about persecution. Rodney King may not have been innocent, he did not deserve to be beaten.
You must be to young to remember the riots and the marches in the 60's.
Do you remember the images coming out of the concentration camps at the end of the war.
How many Mormons have been killed, had their homes burned, starved, forced marches in the last 100 years.
How many were killed since the church was formed, were a Mormon did not kill someone first ?

The bloody footsteps in the snow where the Saints were driven from Nauvoo is a false hood.
They were not driven from there homes they left because they wanted to be with the advanced party that was to be 300 people but 3000 wanted to go and the Mormon leaders were not prepared.
Count the blood toll, Mormons have killed more people then they have had killed.
I do not justify any violence. But don't whine to me about Persecution bcspace. Your avatar reminds me of the Japanese persecution of the Koreans during the war and the Koreans kidnapping the Japanese after. Or the internment camps in Utah.
Buffalo's avatar is called a buffalo nickel but it should be called an Indian head nickel or a brave. If you want to see persecution just look at the native Americans.
Look at how they are treated in Utah and have been for the last 150 years.

Be grateful for a little adversity but don't call it persecution until you know what it really is.

It's Just Common for Mormons to deny their faith publicly because teasing Mormons makes you look cool.

I'd rather be seen picking on a Mormon rather than with a beer or cigarette in my hand, Picking on a Mormon simply makes a guy look Cool!
