I look at people as being one of two types. One type is like Honey bees that fly around and sting people, they like to roll around in nectar. Then there is the comb. Structured and solid and provides a home for all even the bees. You are part of the comb. The bees see their own life but the comb sees all lives. I am so glad you are here.

I appreciate your support, and this board has been a huge benefit to me, as well. It is here that I can come to explore my feelings and thoughts without being worrying I will be attacked or silenced.

This board and the people who post here have been a huge benefit to me in my spiritual growth and for that, I thank Shades and all the denizens of the Trailer Park.

All the Best!

And to think you and others used to belittle me for calling you a closet and approaching Apostate, non TBM.

Clearly I was right, and you've just been trying to fool people.

Yes, indeed that considlieri is one snake in the grass. It's so good to know that the promise of being a prophet, seer and revelator is still alive and well among the faithful.

And thanks for pointing this out in Liz's conclusions about the church and thanks to the board thread!

I'm not convinced that you need help from consig or others...

What religion we belong to does not matter, we are judged by how we treat others, and nothing else. The Book of Mormon DOES teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of if it is history, parable, or fiction. The Church is getting closer to its teachings every decade. The Church is MUCH closer to the teachings of the Book of Mormon today than when I joined in 1978.

The only thing "eternal" are the relationships we make in life, so YES it is best you remain in the Church and keep those eternal relationships.

No it's not.
In 1978 the Church followed the books teaching that blacks were to be discriminated against. Do they still do that?

Dear Drifting,

Actually, there is nothing in the Revelations to Joseph Smith, nor that "one" Revelation to Brigham Young that he received in 1846, that says "Ban blacks from the priesthood". Brigham Young banned blacks only AFTER a Mulatto Mormon Elder named Walker Lewis sexually seduced a number of young nubile Mormon women and girls in Winter's Quarters Nebraska in late 1847 (he was an ALPHA MALE obviously...that is why he was so successful in his seductions of Mormon women). Then, in early 1948, Brigham Young started to teach the Curse of Cain Doctrine and to ban blacks (the priesthood-ban). Why? Because Brigham had an "eye" on one or more of those females as future plural wives, and, in his view, Walker Lewis "ruined" them for him (Brigham). Simple as that.

To LIZ: Good choice. Don't leave the Church. Do "good" in the Church. Testify of Jesus Christ during Fast and Testimony meetings; not of Joseph Smith or the Church. It will catch on.

Hey, Darrick, do you know where I can find documentation regarding Walker Lewis, and Brigham Young's subsequent ban in 1848? I would be very interested in reading anything you have. Thanks!
