Yes, 40% is a decent demographic. Active Mormon is really the only pertinent.
So non-mormons in Utah download porn at a higher rate than they do in other states?
Yes, because obviously porn is not available almost at all ANYWHERE in Utah, save a little in Salt Lake itself which has a very small Mormon population. Thus, they get their porn and sex related fixes at a much higher rate than places which have strip clubs and porn shops, mag's etc. on nearly every corner.
They must download at a much, much higher rate to overcome the 40-60% of Mormons who hardly download any porn at all. Outside of Utah, non Mormons make up like 95% of their state's population, and they can't keep up with the 40% of non-mormons in Utah. Weird. Those Utah non-mormons are a bunch of pervs.
You over-simplify. First it's really 60% non-mormon. Second, you misrepresent. The rate is not "hugely" different from other states, it's just the highest. Thus, there is not a "huge" discrepancy. But the reason for the discrepancy is because "sex" is not as easily accessible in other ways as other states. Third..... It's well known that those who rebel or have no interest in Mormonism tend to go to the extreme in morality.
It is also strange that the relatively small percentage of Utahans who are non-mormons can skew the porn stats all the way to the top of the list, but they can't move Utah's ranking of per capita smokers up from #50. They can't move Utah's rank for per capita drinkers up from #50. you would think if they can shoot porn consumption all the way to #1, they could move alcohol and tobacco consumption to at least 49.
You are confused..... Cigarettes and Alcohol are "tangible" objects..... They also are restricted like porn is, hence why the numbers are lower for Utah, because ALL people can't as easily get them. If non-members could get them online, they would and those numbers would be higher.
haa haa..... Perfect example of how you people don't actually THINK....
