Fair enough. You're wiser than the brethren.

I walked through City Creek Center today.

It is a much better use of the Church's money than another church or temple.

Especially the genetically engineered trout, the retracting roof, and the flaming fountain.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

And I bet your non-member parents are allowed to come and watch when you get married at City Creek Center.

Thanks for the review, Tchild. I can't wait to check out the new Great and Spacious Building.

City Creek: you can buy anything in this world for money.

Hallelujah Jesus.

I think that should be Hallelujah Boyd (and the other 14). Jesus obviously had nothing to do with it.

I know that and you know that, but they don't know it.

Could not have said it better. Is there a cinnabon and auntie annes?

While not a tithe paying member, nor a member who contributes any of his precious time, energy or talents to the LDS church. I was able to visit the City Center yesterday and am appreciative of your's and the all other's tithing...er, um I mean, billions in non-tithing dollars that a non-profit church has somehow accumulated in ways and means not related to tithing.

I liked the place. Smaller than I thought, but I loved the waterfalls, and the courtyard with towering mid size skyscrapers all around. Very cool. It is rare that I have felt so "worldly" anyplace in Salt Lake City, but the LDS church accomplished that and made me feel like the 1%, with money and power if only for $1.00 in parking fees.

I went shopping at Macy's and picked up some nice new duds.

So, thanks older Mormons who have given separate and apart from tithing, land, stocks, gifts and cash to the church instead of to your families for inheritances.

The mall is swell. All your generational sacrifices were worth it to me!

On a slightly serious note, this city creek mall stuff is the straw that has broke the back of the wife/boss/slave-driver/celestial companion. She has stopped attending regularly and maybe goes once a month at best. If the Church was looking for a quick method to display it is a great and spacious faith with a tremendous amount of backwards leadership then they have succeeded.

Then I'm glad they've spent the billions on this project. If it so be that the church should labor all its days and use up all its liquidity in real estate development schemes, and bring, save it be one soul unto ex-Mormonism, how great shall be their joy in the kingdom of Utah!
